To have it on record right.

Upon restore your multi media keyboard drive will be deleted but you still need to burn recovery discs. The reason why the driver is not on the recovery proportion of your hard drive is more than likely because it is optional and was not on the main image for that model of computer. If you do not make restore discs then you will upon hard drive replacement or a good delete you will lose all you preinstalled software and a bunch of drivers. If you where one of the ones who got just the xp disc you will wind up with just a basic operating system. Windows alone is not much no burning software and just some simple stuff. You need to go in to Emachines system recovery and find burn recovery discs. These discs are not like other kinds of back ups it is recommended you make them as many other forms of back ups do not work right and are not meant for the inexperienced user. Basically from what I have seen they are crap.
Computer makers image computers and for some unknown reason expect you burn your recovery discs some times why supply the Windows Disc but not the other discs with the proper drivers. There is a recovery proportion of your hard drive that is hidden to look and act like another hard drive but it is the same drive. This holds those drivers and the operating system. This the reason why sometimes when you restore a computer it does not need the driver discs but in the event of a real disaster you will need the discs.

On To this keyboard. After system restore you the keyboard will lose some functions so here is the keyboard driver.


Emachines drivers
T6420: For those who were unlucky anoff to have not gotten a chance to burn a recovery disc here are some links to the drivers you need. They are not all on the emachines website because Gateway support is not so good for this model. I still can not find this keyboard driver any where and they can not give it to me. I did find it one though and here it is.
This is the emachines site that has the manuals and some drivers but not all needed drivers.

This is the site for some of the drivers that emachines does not offer this one you really need to go to for Ethernet Card and a few more.

This is the site fir the data fax modem. This is not for the computer at hand but that is the modem driver so make sure you just get the modem driver.

With that being said there is another site that was recommended by a tech person. This site has basiclly the same stuff I just give you but may have more I do not know if this works make sure to check the device manager after install.

For other models of emachines computer I would guess looking these websites would be a good place to start looking for drivers if you need em. Go in to you device manager and look for the little exclamation marks those are devices that need drivers. I hope this helped.
